Mark your calendar for the 2019 Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park and Museum on Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. This popular annual community event features – what else? – lots of ice cream, along with festival food, music, and family fun! This year’s festival is a celebration of the history of New Castle County with a vintage feel and a laid-back atmosphere surrounded by entertainment and activities that will encourage visitors to unplug and enjoy the beautiful and historic Rockwood grounds.

Ice Cream Festival admission is FREE for children age 12 and under accompanied by a paying adult. Admission is $5.00 for attendees age 13 and over.

The Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival features more than half a dozen ice cream producers, including UDairy Creamery, Woodside Farms Creamery. A children’s area will host a DJ, Grandpop Bubbles, face painting, stilt walkers, history demonstrations, and fun activities. The local music stage presents live performances throughout the afternoon. Food trucks, free museum tours, a Vintage Marketplace presented by First State Flea, an Author’s Alley with local authors and more cap off an extraordinary day at this flagship New Castle County park.

Rockwood Park & Museum is located at 4651 Washington Street Extension, Wilmington, DE 19808. Free parking will be offered at the Rockwood Office Park at 501 Carr Road with complimentary shuttles running regularly throughout the day. Shuttles will drop off up at the mansion and will be able to accommodate strollers. Handicapped parking and shuttle service is also offered at the Rockwood Office Park.
